The conference organizing of InnoSTRE 2020 which has been granted conference funding by the Business Event (BE) Sarawak has to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. No physical meeting and travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic have drastically impacted the KPI for the number of participants among foreign delegates. Given these unprecedented circumstances, a joint decision has been taken by the organizers to postpone the event to 2022, which was initially scheduled to take place in 2020.

With the current COVID-19 pandemic, the world faces several global crises such as an economic crisis, an education crisis, an inequality crisis, and so much more. Issues can be seen around the world such as rising food insecurity, growing polarization, and surging mistrust of public institutions and leaders, not to mention a devastating and disproportionate toll on women, girls, and other marginalized communities. There are 9 years left for every nation on earth to deliver on the promise it made to its people to achieve the SDGs by 2030 – to deliver a world of greater opportunity and prosperity for everyone on a healthy planet. More than ever, this year’s InnoSTRE 2022 Conference, themed ‘Probing the societal challenges through a unified, interdisciplinary platform’, will be the timely occasion to create new synergies and demonstrate how a unified, interdisciplinary platform can leverage the power of creativity to cope with the challenges we are collectively facing.

In addition, the emerging economies and the advancing sciences and technologies nowadays have resulted in the increasing needs for the enhancement of quality education. On top of that, the demand for indigenous research is also growing. Together they play essential role to the development goals of the economies. To promote research within the academic community, to enhance the quality of education, and to engage in industry relationships in advancing economies, UiTM Sarawak will bring together scholars, professionals and practitioners from various disciplines and countries and provided them with a unique platform for sharing the latest theories and practices prevalent in dynamic service economies.

Conference Objectives

The main objective of the research conference is to provide a platform for local and international participants from both academics and industries to present their authoritative knowledge and the most up-to-date research findings in innovative sciences and technologies, while providing new opportunities to others who are preparing to venture into innovative sciences and technologies for the exchange of information and knowledge between the academics and practitioners for service excellence. The conference will also provide the opportunity to highlight the most recent innovation in science and technology developments and identify emerging and future areas of growth and collaboration in these exciting fields.
